Physical Description

Lewis’ Moon Snail has a globular light brown shell, typically reaching sizes up to 130 mm, although usually less. Its foot is much larger than the shell and is used to burrow shallowly in fine sand.

Habitat

Moderately common, often partially buried in sand.

Geographical Range

From British Columbia to Baja.

Diet

Feeds mostly on burrowing bivalves.
