The Blue Lined Chiton, measuring 2.5 cm, exhibits a distinctive appearance with pink or orange zig-zag concentric lines on its head valve. Dark maroon or black markings, if present, don’t form continuous lines.


Moderately common along the eastern Pacific coast, typically found on crustose corallines.

Geographical Range

From the Aleutian Islands to the Channel Islands, including Santa Barbara, the Blue Lined Chiton inhabits the Pacific coastal region.
